Keys to Listening

Are you interested in classical music? Would you like to ‘train’ your ears? Well, you have come to the right place! One hour before each concert, a musicologist will give you some tips to help you appreciate the music and lift the veil on the secrets behind the pieces, making the musical programme even more mouth-watering.

Concert programmes

At each concert, Noda BCVS will be delighted to offer you a bilingual French/German concert programme absolutely free, prepared by our passionate specialists. The opportunity to discover the careers of our artists and find out more about the works performed, as you sit undisturbed in your seat!

Artist’s confidences

How does an international soloist work? What is the relationship between they have with their instrument, with the audience, with the pieces they love and with stage fright? Artist's confidences is a special, friendly and private event, with some great musicians. The ideal opportunity to ask them your questions and find out more about what happens behind-the-scenes in those unconventional lives.

Younger audiences

Noda BCVS is also a space for introducing new generations to music and live performance. In partnership with artists specialised in outreach initiatives with young people and passionate about sharing their knowledge, a wide range of activities are on offer: interactive workshops, narrated and educational concerts and musical fairy tales.

The Chronicles

At Noda BCVS, one concert follows another. But each is different, unique. Over the course of the season, five centuries of music will feature, with the keenest spotlight shone on Beethoven, whose immortality has been cause for celebration for 200 years! Created for the curious: The Chronicles give a deeper understanding of the main issues in our musical history and its masterpieces.

In 2026-27, The Chronicles are organised around major themes and explore the rich and multi-faceted interactions which link music to the world that surrounds it, to society and to our own individual perceptions. Each theme will be covered in two one-and-half-hour sessions, allowing you to explore each musical phenomenon as thoroughly as possible. The first, in the form of a formal lecture, will introduce the key concepts. The second, more interactive, will provide a full selection of musical examples with comments, accompanied by live musicians.

Loud and off-key!

At lunchtime, warm up your vocal cords on the Noda BCVS stage for 45 minutes and unleash your hidden inner artist! Enjoy a fun choral singing experience through a varied repertoire (pop, classical and traditional), supported by passionate and dedicated choirmasters. Learn to breathe deeply, feel your body and sing, without worrying about what your neighbours may think. Loud and off-key! at Noda BCVS: better than in the shower!

The Laboratories

Scientific and musical interactions
Music represents a real crossroads between emotions and reason; is it an art? Or a science? The Laboratories straddle the boundary between two worlds, an open door into the factory of our emotions; and we are keen to hear your views, too. Musicians are joined on stage by scientists, to discuss, experiment and reflect for around 1h15, seeking to put a finger on those feelings which make each and every one of us unquestionably human.

Musical Matinées
