So familiar and yet so mysterious, the voice shapes our identity just as much as our facial features. And in 2026-27, it is one of the central themes of Noda BCVS’s artistic season. The ‘Chronicles’ presented by singer and musicologist Céline Eliseev offer the perfect opportunity to discover and explore the mechanics of vocal technique, its history and the richness of its aesthetics across the great repertoire. How is the voice produced? How is it trained? Why is an opera singer’s tone on stage so different from their speaking voice, and why does it move us so deeply? Join us on Tuesday 27 April and Saturday 15 May 2027, at Noda BCVS, to find out… and to listen to this instrument with fresh ears!
About
At Noda BCVS, one concert follows another. But each is different, unique. Over the course of the season, five centuries of music will feature, with the keenest spotlight shone on Beethoven, whose immortality has been cause for celebration for 200 years! Created for the curious: The Chronicles give a deeper understanding of the main issues in our musical history and its masterpieces.
Originaire du canton de Fribourg, Céline Eliseev étudie la musicologie, la littérature française et l’histoire de l’art dans les universités de Lausanne et Genève, avant de se spécialiser en sciences historiques de la culture. Conjointement à son parcours académique, elle obtient un diplôme d’enseignement en chant lyrique à l’Institut de Ribaupierre. Elle exerce ensuite pendant plusieurs années, en tant que professeur de chant et d’histoire de la musique, tout en se produisant régulièrement en concert. Boursière du Fonds national suisse, elle termine actuellement une thèse de doctorat sur la critique musicale en Suisse romande dans la première moitié du XXe siècle et collabore également aux Editions Musicales Henry Labatiaz.
