Program

The brainchild of the Geneva-based drummer Noé Tavelli, the Double Drums Quartet features an unusual line-up of two drum kits, a double bass and a saxophone. The group comprises musicians from different generations: on the one hand, two recognised figures from the New York scene, Eric McPherson and Ohad Talmor; and, on the other, two leading figures from the Swiss scene, Fabien Iannone and Noé Tavelli. Inspired as much by jazz legends as by Afro-Cuban percussion ensembles, their music blends acoustic and electronic elements, composition and improvisation, in a vibrant dialogue that crosses generations and continents.

About

In 2026–27, Noda BCVS opens its doors to jazz, revealing its many facets! Seven opportunities to explore the vitality of French-speaking Switzerland’s music scene, from jazz to improvised music, spanning Afro-Brazilian rhythms, hip-hop and Baroque influences, and contemporary sounds. The Nodathèque becomes a new meeting place where different aesthetics converge and boundaries fade away.
