26.11.2025 - Swedish Chamber Orchestra ǀ M. Fröst

A boundary-breaking and captivating musical journey around Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.

The Swedish Chamber Orchestra, led by the charismatic Martin Fröst, a clarinet virtuoso and visionary conductor, headlines at this extraordinary event. For the first time, the Migros-Pour-cent-culturel-Classics are stopping off in the Valais to take part in a brand new co-production with Noda bcvs, a collaboration born of their shared desire to design new formats to spread the influence of classical music and its great interpreters in Swiss concert halls. The Beethoven Mirrors programme proposes a bold odyssey of sound, in which the dialogue between past and present is given free rein. The evening begins with Mirrors, a suite arranged by Hans Ek, a Swedish arranger, who revisits Handel, Mozart and Rameau, interweaving them with electro sonorities inspired by Kraftwerk and Daft Punk. This innovative approach prepares the audience for a new take on Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 – a work that Richard Wagner qualified at the “apotheosis of dance” and a “fusion of mind and body”. The Swedish Chamber Orchestra, recognised worldwide for its virtuosity and boldness, continues to push back the boundaries of the classical concert under the baton of Martin Fröst, who melds innovation and passion. An untrammelled, fascinating musical journey not to be missed.
