Come and celebrate the festive season at BCVS at an evening unlike any other!

After the symphonic Hip-Hop of the 2025-26 season, this year it is time for jazz: a crossover project where the boundaries blur and orchestra meets improvisation. The programme features the Swiss trumpeter Erik Truffaz, winner of the 2023 Swiss Grand Award for Music and a giant in the jazz world. He will be accompanied by the Sedunum String Orchestra, a young professional ensemble founded in Sion, dedicated to the chamber repertoire and shared musical adventures. With Sébastien Bagnoud on the podium, the strings unite their colours with syncopated rhythms, catchy grooves and more melancholic and ethereal atmospheres. On the bill: Falling Stars, a symphonic suite composed by Erik Truffaz for orchestra, trumpet and piano. “I have always wanted to rediscover that sensation of immersion in a symphonic world of sound,” the musician explains. The work blends orchestral writing, distinctive melodic and rhythmic themes, while making room for occasional improvisation. “Good music is good music no matter what kind of music it is. And I always hated categories” (Miles Davis): here, categories are broken down and the music given room to breathe. A bold, vibrant and festive evening for waltzing, trembling and celebrating together.
