Orchestre de la Suisse Romande ǀ D. Gatti ǀ V. Frang

We end with an apotheosis to close our symphonic season: the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande is going back to where it all began. After inaugurating the hall last season, it is returning to Noda BCVS under the fervent direction of Daniele Gatti, whose precise and heartfelt beat sculpts every phrase with intensity, tension and dramatic flair.

One of the most iconic conductors of his generation, trained at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, currently Chief Conductor of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden and Musical Director of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Daniele Gatti has lit up the podium at the greatest houses, from Rome to Amsterdam, and collaborated with the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonics. He is accompanied by the violinist Vilde Frang, a child prodigy, a guest of the most prestigious orchestras and winner of numerous recording awards. Her luminous and vibrant playing finds the perfect showcase in Robert Schumann’s Concerto in D minor, renowned for emphasising the virtuoso capacities of the soloist. Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A major will then release its irresistible energy, this ‘apotheosis of the dance’ driven by a joyful pulse and electrifying rhythmic tension. In 2027, the year marking the bicentenary of Beethoven’s death, this iconic work will resound with especial force. A passionate programme to close the symphonic season with a bang.
