Chœur et Orchestre Les Musiciens du Louvre ǀ M. Minkowski

Just after the festive season, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem will warm the heart at Noda BCVS with its rare intensity.

The legendary Les Musiciens du Louvre orchestra, joined by their choir and international soloists, will perform this powerful fresco under the virtuoso baton of their founder Marc Minkowski. The soprano Lydia Hoen Tjore, mezzo-soprano Sun-Ly Pierce, tenor Lunga Eric Hallam and bass Alex Rosen are brilliant representatives of the new lyrical generation. This evening will mark the second collaboration with Migros-Culture-Percentage-Classics, with excellence and the highest artistic standards guaranteed. From infernal furies to the gentle touch of consolation, the palette of emotions deployed by Mozart in his famous Requiem has never lost its power to astonish. How could anyone fail to be moved by this striking vision of the hereafter? Mozart’s final, unfinished score is shrouded in mystery, further fuelled by Miloš Forman’s film, Amadeus. Commissioned by an eccentric count and then completed by the composer’s close friends after his death, this work, with its unusual destiny, is as fascinating as it is overwhelming. The final piece on the programme is the delicate Ave Verum Corpus and an intimate score by Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, making for an intense, vibrant and unforgettable evening.
