Signature Artist

Introducing Noda BCVS’ very first Signature Artist

Emmanuel Pahud. A flautist of Swiss origin, a musician who has lived a thousand different lives, he has been solo flute at the Berliner Philharmoniker since he was 23 and has pursued a staggering international career. This new format spotlights an extraordinary musician, invited to share every aspect of his art.

Emmanuel Pahud reveals his full talent in a unique recital with pianist Nelson Goerner – their first encounter on stage – and in a chamber music concert alongside harpist Marie-Pierre Langlamet, his partner at the Berliner Philharmoniker, and violist Lise Berthaud.

With Noda+, an interactive mediation format, he takes things even further and give us a behind-the-scenes look at his career. He is also set to take part in A private audience with the Artist, an intimate, interactive moment where he will answer any questions we may have: how does one dream in music? What does one go through before making one’s entrance onto the stage? What is the relationship between a soloist and his instrument?

The flautist is a Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, an honorary member of the Royal Academy of Music and an ambassador for UNICEF. He teaches at the Karajan Academy at the Berliner Philharmoniker and as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Barenboim-Said Academy. In 2024, he was awarded the Léonie Sonning Music Prize for his body of work. Emmanuel Pahud is so much more than an exceptional soloist – he is the encounter with a voice and a charismatic artist.
