A unique voice, a biting flow, tight writing: KT Gorique is an artist who shakes up the established codes. After exploring the fusion of styles in her albums, the Valaisian rapper, winner of Swiss Music Prize 2019, enters a new phase with a unique concert in which her hard-hitting hip-hop encounters the symphonic power of the Geneva Chamber Orchestra (OCG). Each piece has been entirely rearranged to this extraordinary show, blending hip-hop beats and classical arrangements in a unique intense sound experience. “Working with an artist whose idiom seems worlds away from our own is exhilarating”, confides Raphaël Merlin, the Artistic Director of the OCG. “It urges us to explore new horizons.” Under the musical direction of the young conductor, Nandingua Bayarbaatar, this concert promises a one-off synergy, replete with emotions and surprises. Born in Côte d’Ivoire and based in the Valais, KT Gorique has established herself as a major force in French-language rap. World freestyle champion in 2012, she breathes a raw energy into her music, a hip-hop, reggae and trap hybrid. Committed and innovative, she boldly continues to push back the boundaries of her art.
